 Mr.
Vicars received his Bachelor of Science in
Accounting from the University of Virginia’s
College at Wise in May, 1994. His studies
included general accounting, governmental
accounting, individual and corporate tax, cost
accounting, auditing, general finance,
economics, with various presentations given to
faculty and staff of the college. Mr. Vicars
is currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree
program at King College. He began his
professional career outside the field of
education. In 1995, he was employed as the
Deputy Treasurer for the Wise County Treasurer’s
Office. Later in that year, he accepted the
position as the E.D.P. Executive for In- Home
Nursing Care, Inc., where he worked for four
years. In 1999, he became the senior accountant
for Larry D. Sturgill, P.C. In 2004, Mr. Vicars
was appointed Director of Business and Finance
for the Wise County Public School Division.
