Mrs. Robin Olinger

Wise County's Teacher of the month.
Fifth grade Teacher here at AES.
Ms. Olinger has taught in Wise County
for 32 years. In additionto teaching
fifth gradefor 22 years, she has also
taught sixth grade,fourth grade science
and physical education.

 

These second grade students received recognition from The Poetry Society of Virginia.  Their Poetry work was among 512 entries from across the United States. The entries went through a "blind" judging process which means the work was judged on the strength of its originality and creativity. The faculty and staff at AES congratulate these young writers.

Ms. Adkins 2008-09 Kindergarten class read the book Flat Stanley. Each of the student
"flattened themselves" so they could take an adventure just like Flat Stanley. Each student mailed or sent theirs to different people. Austin Bates sent his to President Obama.
Six months later President Obama sent his back and shared with the students the adventure Austin's flat Stanley had taken around the White House and the Oval office.
Along with a picture of the Obama's dog.
