Blue Ridge West Technology Consortium

Registration

Each school year many teachers and administrators need to be recertified. The Blue Ridge West Technology Consortium is offering online courses presenting a unique opportunity for teachers and administrators to earn recertification points or college credit without traveling. These online courses can be taken at home or school at the participants' convenience.

Please remember that many school divisions will allow Mountain Empire Community College to invoice their system for their teachers’ recertification courses taken for college credit.  Each teacher and/or administrator, who wish to take a course for college credit, must complete an authorization form; this form will assist everyone with tuition payment issues. Blue Ridge West Technology Consortium will not be responsible for tuition payment; therefore, registration for college credit will not be accepted without a properly signed and submitted authorization form.  Please check your division's policy on reimbursement of tuition for college credit hours before registering for classes.

Also, it is important that you check with your school division regarding the enrollment status you need for your particular recertification.  We can not change anyone to a college course status once the course has been completed and a grade given and vice versa.

It is the responsibility of the enrollee to ensure that the enrollment status meets the correct recertification needs.

The new funding application cycle for the EDTECH grant, as written by Mr. Terry Hawthorne and Smyth County was not funded.  We appreciate his efforts and time in applying for the new round of EDTECH monies.
