Coeburn Primary School's Report Card

Coeburn Primary School is located in Coeburn, Virginia, in the heart of the Jefferson National Forest.   The school is a two-story brick structure housing 27 regular classrooms, 3 pre-k classrooms, 2 Title I labs, 2 twenty-five station computer centers, 3 mobile laptop labs, 3 special education classrooms, an administrative area and a multi-purpose room, Family Resource center, media center with over 13,000 books and 10 computers, a modern music room with 16 double keyboards, and gymnasium.

Coeburn Primary and Coeburn High School share a campus of twenty acres which includes play areas, athletic facilities, and parking areas.

Coeburn Primary School has an enrollment of  students in K-4 with an additional  pre-k students.  The instructional staff consists of the principal, assistant principal, 42 professional staff members, and 6 support personnel.  Transportation is provided by 14 buses with approximately 90 percent of students being transported by bus. 

The building was first occupied in August of 1973.  A major renovation was completed in 2001.  This addition added the gym, media center, music room, and eleven classrooms.  Coeburn Primary has been fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools since 1976 and is fully accredited by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
