Third grade students at Coeburn Primary School are working diligently for SOL success.  Students follow rules which are established by classroom teachers to ensure that each student has the opportunity to reach their goal for academic excellence.  Students realize the importance of the SOL test and are studying hard.

THIRD GRADE DISCIPLINE PLAN

These rules are designed to provide for a safe and orderly learning environment. Each student  is expected to show respect for his/her classmates, school personnel,  and himself/herself. In order for each student to have this environment, the following rules will be in effect.

1. Listen and follow directions

* pay attention to discussions in class and to your class work( give your best effort!)

* Stay on task( complete assignments as they are given)

2. Speak softly and work quietly

* Keep annoying habits  out of the class( no whistling, humming, tapping your pencil on the desk, etc.)

3.Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself and chairs and desks on the floor.

( this is important for the safety of everyone in the room.)

4. Raise your hand for special privileges and wait to be called on.

* do not "call out" answers or comments unless you have been called on.

5.Be prepared for class each day.

* have all books for each class

* have completed homework ready to be handed in.

CONSEQUENCES

If a student chooses to break a rule:

1st time: receive a warning

2nd time: loses 5 minutes of recess

3rd. time : loses all of recess

4th. time: loses all of recess and parents are notified.

5th. time: sent to office or removed from room.

* Severe disruption: student will be sent to the office immediately to the office.
