WELCOME TO THE J.J. KELLY HIGH SCHOOL CHEMISTRY I  TUTOR PAGE !

For the benefit of students struggling with specific concepts in the study of chemistry, I offer the following tutoring programs which include explanations, diagrams, practice problems and reviews designed to remediate and reinforce the principles of general high school chemistry.  Students needing remediation in chemistry should start at the beginning of these lessons and go through all topics very deliberately and thoroughly, over a period of time.  Guided remediation time with the use of our computers is also provided in all science courses, including chemistry.  If you need this remediation, you should report to Ms. Aker in rm. 305 (top floor of J.J. Kelly High School) between the hours of 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM each Tuesday and ThursdayOtherwise, make use of these lessons to help reinforce the text and to help prepare you for the SOL test in chemistry.  This may be done from home if you have an internet connection.  These lessons are intended to coordinate with the >STATE OF VIRGINIA STANDARDS OF LEARNING< which can be found at this link for all courses.  They will serve as one of our efforts at remediation for the SOL's, as  required by the state.  Be sure to also check out the >Blueprint for Virginia's SOL Tests<, which provides more specific information concerning the number of questions which will be found on the test related to  each major topic.  The pages may be used as a study guide and research source even for advanced students.  Click on a choice of topics below.

This web site is consistent with the changing Standards of Learning in chemistry for the state of Virginia.  As SOL topics continue to be added to our page, you may want to seek help from the following online sources.  You will note that some of these are also particularly good for chemistry II,  AP or freshman college chemistry.
