MISSON:
The mission of J. W. Adams Combined School is to establish a strong foundation for lifelong learning, to nurture, guide, and challenge all students to perform to their maximum potential in an ever-changing technological society.

HISTORY:
J. W. Adams Elementary was built to replace Pound Primary. The school served students in grades Kindergarten through the sixth grade. J. W. Adams Elementary opened it's doors in the fall of 1977. Our school was named after James Woodrow Adams the former Upper Elementary Principal. Mr. Adams was also a member of the Wise County Board of Supervisors representing the Robinson District. In the fall of 2001, after remodeling, J. W. Adams Elementary was renamed to J. W. Adams Combined School to denote that we now are a combination Elementary and Middle School. J. W. Adams Combined School proudly serves students in grades PreK through the eighth grade.

BELIEFS:

● All students can learn and achieve success.

● Each student is unique; therefore, instruction must be student centered.

● All facets of our school and community share in the responsibility for providing a supportive and safe learning environment within our school.

● Regular attendance is essential for successful student learning.

● Mutual respect among students, teacher, parents and administration promotes a positive self-image.

● Art, music, gym, and library are desirable for a well-rounded curriculum.

● Differentiated learning opportunities that extend beyond the educational program should be provided for students with special needs.

● Clear goals and challenging expectations for student achievement should guide the development of the curriculum, instructional strategies and learning activities.
