On September 27, 2006, the
Virginia Department of Education recognized Wise County
schools as was one of sixty –three school divisions to
have 100% of their schools earn full accreditation
for the 2006-2007 school-year. Accreditation ratings are
based on the achievement of students on SOL assessments
and approved substitute tests in English, mathematics,
history/social science, and
science administered during the summer and fall of 2005
and the spring of 2006, or on overall achievement during
the three most recent academic years. This achievement
is the result of Wise County educators’ dedication to
teaching and learning and their commitment to improving
student achievement. |
