Introduction to Vocational Education
Prerequisites: Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. Good math
and reading skills, and attendance are essential.
Course Description: The Intro class is certified by the
National Center for Construction Education and Research.
The quality and standardization of NCCER training is
accomplished through formal accreditation process,
similar to that found in institutes of higher learning.
For students who successfully complete the training, the
NCCER offers national recognition with entry into the
National Craft Training Registry. The registry provides
transcripts, certificates, and other means of
recognition for the craft worker. Because this is and
National Center for Construction Education and Research
(NCCER) certified course, this class requires all
students to work math problems with and without
calculators.
Course Content and Objectives: Students will learn
jobsite safety, Construction Math, Hand Tools, Power
Tools, Blueprints, and Basic Rigging. The course also
includes Job Readiness.
The Intro class is certified by the National Center for
Construction Education and Research.
